Criminal Charges:

Man arrested in Seekonk and charged in the Bristol County; Taunton District Court for:

Case Overview:

A man was charged with Identity Fraud, two counts of Receiving a Stolen Credit Card, Forging or Uttering a Forged Credit Card, and Resisting Arrest in Taunton District Court. Prior to retaining our office, he resolved this case short of proceeding to trial. The Receiving Stolen Credit Card and Resisting Arrest charges were dismissed, and the Identity Fraud and Forging or Uttering a Forged Credit Card charges were continued without a finding (which is a non-conviction based probationary period) for a period of one (1) year. With approximately five (5) months remaining on his probationary term, the man was charged with Receiving Stolen Property Over $1,200 and Shoplifting Over $250 by Price Tag Tampering in Stoughton District Court after fleeing from a Home Depot in Avon, Massachusetts with over $1,200 worth of merchandise. Following his arrest on these new charges, the man received a Notice of Probation Violation from the Taunton District Court and retained Massachusetts Criminal Defense Lawyer, John L. Calcagni III, to defend him at a probation violation hearing.

Case Result: Continued on Same Terms and Conditions of Probation.

The matter was resolved with an admission, but no penalty. The Court ordered the man to continue with the existing terms and conditions of his probation.
