Case Overview:

A woman had an active restraining order against her husband.  He was also the defendant in an open criminal case that charged him with Violation of an Abuse Prevention Order, Threat to Commit a Crime, and Intimidation of a Witness, which was scheduled for trial.  The husband contacted his wife to persuade her not to show up and testify against him at trial.  Shortly after, the woman received a text message from a different number stating, “You hurt our friend, now we hurt you.”  Police obtained an administrative subpoena for the number that sent the message and determined it was subscribed to the husband’s friend.  After identifying the friend, police tried to contact him, leaving two voicemails, but received no response.  A criminal complaint was issued against the friend charging him with Intimidation of a Witness in Woburn District Court.  The man retained Massachusetts Criminal Defense Lawyer, John L. Calcagni III, to defend him in his case.

Case Result: Case Dismissed.

Following ongoing discussions with the Commonwealth, Attorney Calcagni and his team successfully secured a dismissal of this case.
