Wrentham District Court
Case Overview:
A store clerk reported to police two customers, one male and one female, that had just stolen several pairs of Versace sunglasses from the store. When police arrived, they stopped the suspects’ vehicle as it attempted to leave. Police detained the occupants and located the stolen glasses. Both parties were issued summonses to appear for arraignment in Wrentham District Court. They both failed to appear, resulting in issuance of an arrest warrant. Sometime later, the male contacted and retained the Law Office of John L. Calcagni III, Inc. after learning there was a warrant for his arrest. After investigating, Attorney Calcagni determined that the warrant was issued for the wrong man, not the actual thief who was arrested for stealing the sunglasses.
Case Result: Case Dismissed.
Attorney Calcagni engaged the District Attorney’s Office in discussions about this case and provided it with concrete evidence of this mistaken identity. In response, the District Attorney’s Office immediately caused the case to be dismissed.
