Criminal Charges:
Man charged in the Taunton District Court for:
- Open and Gross Lewdness, in violation of M.G.L. c. 272, § 16
Case Overview:
Police responded to a Dollar Tree for the report of a man exposing himself inside the store. Upon arrival, police spoke with the store manager who informed them a customer reported that a man wearing a blue sweatshirt and black shorts with scruffy facial hair exposed himself and started playing with his genitals. The manager also informed police that another customer reported a similar incident about a week ago with a similar matching suspect. The man was still in the store. Police approached him and directed him outside. The man admitted to police that he was having issues with his lower region and had to adjust himself. He further admitted he should not have done it in public and was aware of the potential consequences of his actions. Police sent the man on his way and issued a no trespass order for the Dollar Tree. Police later caused a criminal complaint to be issued against the man for Open and Gross Lewdness in Taunton District Court. The man retained Massachusetts Criminal Defense Lawyer, John L. Calcagni III, to represent him in his case.
Case Result: Dismissed.
After reviewing and analyzing all the evidence, and ongoing discussions with the prosecution, Attorney Calcagni and his team successfully secured the dismissal of this case.
