Case Overview:
New Bedford Police responded to a domestic disturbance at an apartment. Upon arrival, they spoke to a woman who informed them she was just assaulted by her husband who left the residence. Police noticed the woman had a minor cut on both her left neck area and hand. She further police that she and her husband got into an argument earlier. When she asked him to leave, he refused, pulled out a knife, and told her he was going to kill her. When she told him she was going to call the police, he grabbed her phone and struck her in the right side of her face and neck with it. He then grabbed her by the neck with his other hand, threw her on the bed, and exited the home. Police contacted the man by phone, who indicated he would turn himself in to authorities. He first retained Massachusetts Criminal Defense Lawyer, John L. Calcagni III, to defend him in his case.
Case Result: Case Dismissed.
