Case Overview:
Police were dispatched to a residence for the report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, they spoke to the woman who called 9-1-1. She was disheveled and hiding in the bathroom. She informed the police when she arrived home that her boyfriend had become upset with her because she was intoxicated. The woman further informed police that when she opened a can of beer in front of him, they began to argue, and he attempted to remove the beer from her hand. A struggle then ensued. He allegedly punched her three (3) times in the ribs, took her by the arms, and threw her to the ground. When she told her boyfriend she was going to call 9-1-1, he grabbed her phone, causing the 9-1-1 call to be disconnected. However, she managed to get the phone back, run into the bathroom, and call again. Police placed the man under arrest for Assault and Battery on a Family / Household Member and Intimidation of a Witness. He was criminally charged in the Marlborough District Court. In response, the man retained Massachusetts Criminal Defense Lawyer, John L. Calcagni III, to represent him in his case.
Case Result: Dismissed.
After reviewing and analyzing all the evidence coupled with ongoing investigatory efforts on the man’s behalf, Attorney Calcagni and his team successfully secured the dismissal of this case and its charges.
