Case Overview:
A man with a lengthy criminal history involving domestic violence was charged in two separate cases with several domestic assault and battery offenses against his ex-girlfriend in Taunton District Court. In the first incident, the man allegedly flipped the living room coffee table over, grabbed his ex-girlfriend and threw her across the room causing scratches and scrapes on her stomach. He also shoved the bedroom door open causing damage to the wall, hit her on the back of the head with a small flat screen TV and while she was on the ground, kicked her on the right side of her pelvis. In the second incident, which occurred about two months later, the man allegedly grabbed the girl by the arm, which caused bruising and attempted to take her phone away so she could not call police. The man fled the scene following both incidents and warrants issued for his arrest remained outstanding for almost one year. The man was then charged in a third domestic assault and battery incident involving his new girlfriend in Fall River District Court. During this incident, the man allegedly threw the woman’s phone in the water and grabbed her by the throat while she was holding their infant child. She was allegedly pregnant at the time. The man hired Massachusetts Criminal Defense Attorney, John L. Calcagni III, to represent him in all his cases.
Case Result: Dismissed.
After reviewing and analyzing all the evidence and conducting lengthy investigative efforts on the man’s behalf, Attorney Calcagni and his team successfully secured the dismissal of all cases and charges.
