Case Overview:

Police responded to a hotel in Westport, Massachusetts for the report of a domestic disturbance. Police spoke to hotel management who informed them they received phone calls from two guests that were concerned after hearing loud noises in an adjacent room consistent with screaming and the throwing of objects. Police determined the location of the room, identified the couple who occupied it, and placed the man in custody. Police then questioned his female companion who informed them that she and the man had a heated argument during which time he punched and grabbed her multiple times, threw items around the room, and destroyed multiple pieces of property. Police photographed the woman’s injuries and property damage, which was valued at approximately $6,000. Police ultimately arrested the man and charged him in Fall River District Court with Assault and Battery on a Family or Household Member and Malicious Destruction to Property Over $1,200. In response, he retained Massachusetts Criminal Defense Lawyer, John L. Calcagni III, to represent him in this matter.

Case Result: Dismissed.

After reviewing and analyzing all the evidence, conducting investigatory efforts on the man’s behalf, and pursuing negotiations with prosecutors, Attorney Calcagni and his team successfully secured the dismissal of this case and its charges against the man.
